National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR)
On 2nd July 2009, following an extensive consultation process, the Council of Australian Governments (COAG), agreed to establish a single national system of laws for heavy vehicles over 4.5 tonnes. These laws will be administered by an independent national regulator – the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR).
Located in Brisbane the regulator and laws are to come into effect from 1st January 2013.
