TruckSafe Driver Medicals
Health Kit Update
In late 2003, the new “Assessing Fitness to Drive” document was released by Austroads and the National Transport Commission. This document sets the new standard for driver medicals throughout Australia. The new medical document has the endorsement of all Australian Driver Licensing Authorities and The Australian Transport Council.
The new document replaces the existing TruckSafe medical (The MECVD - Medical Examination for Commercial Vehicle Drivers) completely. The document has been circulated to all medical practitioners around Australia. TruckSafe Pty Ltd have revised and replaced the Health Section in the TruckSafe Kit. On the Austroads website you can download/print the new questionnaire ( 2 pages ) that the drivers are required to take to the Doctor.
