Becoming TruckSafe accreditedCurrently almost 600 operators are accredited to TruckSafe, with 125 of these being Qld operators. The current number of accredited vehicles in the TruckSafe Fleet is over 24,000. There is an increase in current applicants awaiting TIAC approval. Entry and Annual Fees – as at 1st May 2006Auditor’s costs have been excluded from the pricing structure. Audit Payment Authority While on the subject of audits TruckSafe, are implementing an audit payment authority process to assist in the management of the audit payment process. The reason for this is to gain recognition and / or payment authority from operators that they are liable for the cost of their TruckSafe audit. As operators will be aware TruckSafe schedules and assigns the auditor who will undertake their audit. Operators may also be aware that TruckSafe pays the auditor for the service provided once an audit report is received. Once in receipt of an audit TruckSafe invoices the operator for the audit but does not pass on any associated travel expenses. We have to now modify this process to account for a small number of operators who are either very late in paying for their audit or not paying for it at all. The new process will work as follows:
Unfortunately the auditor will not be advised to proceed with the audit until TruckSafe receives recognition of the audit fee. We apologies for any inconvenience this may cause, as it is a process we have been forced to introduce to better manage the actions of a minor number of operators. Operators are reminded that this is not a demand for prepayment only a mechanism to ensure that all parties recognise the requirement to pay for the audit service. If further clarification is required or you have any other questions please do not hesitate to contact TruckSafe on (02) 6253 6900 Advice and initial assistance is provided by the QTA to guide you through the self implementation of TruckSafe, however, fee for service will apply if you require a consultant to fully implement TruckSafe into your business. Cost of TruckSafe Implementation Kitrrp $495 (QTA members receive a member's discount) Please be aware that from 1st August 2005 the TruckSafe Annual Administration Fee will increase by 6%. This is to keep in line with rises in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) that have not been adjusted for over the past three years. TruckSafe has not had a rate change since the launch of the TruckSafe Implementation Kit in September 2002 and this was in fact a significant rate reduction. As TruckSafe is a not for profit organisation, the funds received as a result of this rise will be channelled into covering Auditor travel costs as that they are not passed on to operators. TruckSafe members will receive a copy of the revised fee structure.
