ENVIRONMENTAL BEST PRACTICE GUIDE

In conjunction with the Department of Environment, Water, Heritage and the Arts, the Australian Trucking Association (ATA) has published an Environmental Best Practice Guide for the trucking industry, with case studies covering 11 of the industry’s leading companies with more than 3,000 copies of the guide have been distributed to trucking operators.

A copy of the 'Environmental Best Practice Guide' can be downloaded from the ATA's website.

ENVIRONMENTAL CREDENTIALS OF THE AUSTRALIAN TRUCKING INDUSTRY

A report was commissioned by the ATA and prepared by the Centre for International Economics in May 2011 which examines the environmental performance of the Australian trucking industry, best practice and emerging technologies that could reduce its environmental impact, and the implications of three possible policy approaches to reducing Australia's carbon emissions. The report shows the trucking industry's greenhouse gas emissions have fallen by 35 per cent per billion tonne kilometres since 1990.

The 'ATA Environmental Credentials Report' can be downloaded from the ATA's website.
