NSW-Update on extension of Transport for NSW (TfNSW) COVID-19 testing sites

TfNSW acknowledges the efforts of the freight industry to continue to transport critical supplies across the country in challenging circumstances. As such, to continue to support the freight industry in managing its operations, the six TfNSW COVID-19 testing sites will remain open for asymptomatic testing.

TfNSW have previously communicated that the TfNSW COVID-19 testing sites at Ballina, Narrandera, Taree, Tarcutta, Marulan and Yass would be closing from Monday 17 January as there is no longer a requirement for asymptomatic testing for freight workers travelling interstate. However, in light of current demand the sites will continue to operate for the remainder of January 2022. We will continue to monitor the demand at each site and will communicate plans for decommissioning the sites once confirmed.

Update to operating hours: Assisted testing by pathology staff at the Narrandera COVID-19 testing site will be available 9am-5pm, 7 days a week.

If you are displaying COVID-19 symptoms, you should complete a rapid antigen test (RAT) at home or a PCR test at your local NSW community testing clinic.

Mask wearing, vaccinations, physical distancing, maintaining good hygiene, cleaning workplaces and health surveillance controls remain critical to our ability to reduce the risks of COVID-19.
