The Queensland Government’s Workplace Quit Smoking Program was developed in 2011 to reduce the high rate of smoking amongst workers in blue collar occupations employed in target industries including transport and currently has over 350 Queensland workplaces currently participating.
Latest figures show that 23% of participants who finished the program are still quit at a 12-month follow-up. That’s more than five times the rate for individuals trying to quit unassisted.
Boost your business by helping your workers quit smoking
The FREE Workplace Quit Smoking Program is available to organisations in the transport industry in Queensland.
This free program provides support to workers who smoke, and are interested in quitting. Workers who join the program receive quit resources, four support phone calls from the Quitline (13QUIT) service, and free nicotine replacement therapy products (patches, gum or lozenges).
