09 Apr 2020 12:30 PM | Administration (Administrator)

The Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) is replacing major culverts under James Street at East Creek and West Creek to improve flood resilience.  This is an early advice.  Specific dates, height restrictions and further information will be provided closer to construction.

When do the changes commence? From mid-May to August 2020 - restrictions will be in place for all heavy vehicles (over 4.5 tonnes) travelling along James Street in Toowoomba.

What are the changes? All heavy vehicles, up to and including B-doubles, but excluding OSOM loads must use the detour route along Herries Street, as signposted, during the works or find an alternative heavy vehicle approved route.

Will there be curfew restriction? Yes, B-double curfew applies; travel will only allowed between 8pm and 5am daily.

Other route options?   Heavy vehicles are still permitted to use the New England Highway (Ruthven Street).
