COVID-19 | Changes to Type-2 road train access through Roma
To support the south-west Queensland cattle industry during COVID-19, the Department of Transport and MainRoads (TMR) is temporarily permitting Type-2 road trains carrying livestock, to travel from the Roma breakdown pad to the Roma Saleyards commencing 1 May 2020.
Transport operators must apply for a permit through the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator prior to travel and must comply with Permit Conditions.
Permit Conditions include:
- School Zone time Restrictions
- Bungil Creek Bridge (W. M. Ewan Bridge) one vehicle, speed restriction and safety radio call
- Flashing light to be fitted to front of vehicle and used while travelling permitted route
The Southwest District TMR A/District Director has issued a Pre Approval valid from 1 May to 15 May 2020.
When applying for a permit amendment, you will need to attach this Pre Approval
To prioritise your permit request – send an email to the NHVR Stakeholder Engagement Officer Daniel Casey firstname.lastname@example.org - quoting the case number assigned to the amendment.
The Amended Permit will be valid for one month. Each request/pre approval will be re published each month until the situation changes.
