CWQ: OSOM Restriction | Central West District

TMR advises that all State controlled roads within Central West District will be closed ❌to Oversize Overmass vehicles with a width greater than 3.5 metres from 8.45am on 12 January - 12.00pm on 19 January 2026 inclusive.

The Central West District comprises the local government authorities of:

Barcaldine Regional
Barcoo, Blackall / Tambo Regional
Boulia
Diamantina
Longreach Regional
Winton.

This restriction is due to ongoing widespread rain resulting in wet and soft shoulders which are unable to carry traffic without causing safety issues to the travelling public and substantial damage to the road shoulders.

This temporary restriction takes precedence over any current excess dimension permits for the duration of the restriction.
