TMR advises they are commencing critical slope stabilisation works along the Gillies Range Road between Lake Barrine and Wrights Creek Rd.
Reconstruction works have been carefully coordinated across all four range roads between Cairns and the Tablelands to minimalise traffic disruptions and ensure safe, reliable access for road users across the region.
Works are due to commence mid-February 2026, weather and conditions permitting.
Variable Message Signs (VMS) and signage will be in place to advise of the changed conditions.
Reduced speed limits and lane closures for the duration of the works.
If last in queue at work sites, please turn on your hazard lights to warn approaching vehicles.
