The Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) advises of a temporary closure of the Tallon Bridge on the Isis Highway (known locally as Hinkler Avenue) to allow for urgent surfacing repairs.

When

The bridge works will be undertaken overnight on Sunday 21 June 2026, between 8pm and 5am, finishing in the early hours of Monday morning, weather permitting.

What to expect

These works are scheduled overnight and into the early morning, when traffic volumes are lower, to minimise impacts on motorists.

On road signage will be in place to notify road users of changed conditions and to detour motorists to the Burnett Bridge.

Road users should allow additional time for their journey while the closure is in place.
