NQ: Bruce Hwy road closure - Townsville to Ingham

When

The Bruce Highway between Lavarack Barracks and Deeragun will be closed to all traffic, excluding emergency service vehicles:

• Saturday 10 October to Sunday 11 October 2026

• 9:00pm to 6:00am

Works are scheduled at night when traffic volumes are lower and are subject to weather and construction conditions.

What to expect

During the works, road users can expect:

• Full road closures between Lavarack Barracks and Deeragun
• Diversions in place, with alternative routes required
• Traffic controllers onsite to direct traffic
• Variable message signs on approaches to the work area
• Additional travel time

Motorists are advised to allow extra time, follow the directions of traffic controllers and adhere to all changed traffic conditions.

If works are unable to proceed due to wet weather or unforeseen circumstances, they will be rescheduled to the next available shift.
