SC: Updated - Cunningham Hwy, Cunninghams Gap - Access temporarily closed to oversize movements

TMR advises due to unfavourable weather conditions expected, the works planned for this Friday 13 February 2026 to Tuesday 17 February 2026 are now rescheduled to take place from 6pm on Friday 20 February to 6am till Tuesday 24 February 2026.

Access to oversize loads on the Cunningham Highway at Cunninghams Gap will be temporarily closed to facilitate works on Gap Creek Bridge.

When completed, the bridge will feature a one-metre-wide centreline treatment, enhancing safety by increasing the separation between eastbound and westbound traffic.

From 6pm Friday 20 February 2026 until 6am Tuesday 24 February 2026.

What to expect

Access will be temporarily closed for oversize vehicles wider than 2.55m and/or longer than 30.5m travelling through the roadworks site at Cunninghams Gap.
Continuous 24/hr single-lane stop/slow conditions through Cunninghams Gap.
A reduced speed limit of 40km/h will be in place for the safety of motorists and work crews.
Priority access through the work zone will be provided to emergency vehicles, when required.
