Gold Coast Light Rail Stage 3 has advised that night works and temporary closures will occur between Third Avenue and Connor Street, Burleigh Heads, to facilitate the installation of overhead power lines for the tram network.

The approved detour is not suitable for heavy vehicles and operators will need to use an alternative route when travelling through the area during the affected dates.

Works include

  • Installing overhead wires in lengths of approximately one kilometre above the tramway track using a winch truck.

What to expect

  • Lighting will be used during the night works for safety and will be directed away from the residences wherever possible.

Pedestrian and traffic changes
