The Port of Brisbane has advised of upcoming roadworks on Port Drive, Port of Brisbane, commencing 30 October 2026, with works expected to be completed in December 2026.
The project will involve the installation and upgrade of:
Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras, LIDAR vehicle profiling equipment and Weigh in Motion (WIM) sensors.
Existing heavy vehicle inspection site technology to improve operational efficiency and safety.
Supporting roadside infrastructure, including guardrails, signage, cabinets, poles and communications equipment.
These upgrades are intended to enhance heavy vehicle monitoring capabilities, improve inspection efficiency and support safer freight movements.
Freight operators and road users should anticipate temporary shoulder and lane closures, reduced speed limits and possible short delays throughout the works.
Traffic management will be in place to minimise disruption and maintain safety for workers and road users.
Operators are encouraged to advise drivers and contractors of the upcoming works, allow additional travel time and monitor traffic conditions when travelling through the Port of Brisbane precinct.
