Temporary closure Warrigal Creek Bridge, Flinders Highway - 4 December 2024

The Department of Transport and Main Roads, (TMR) advises that Warrigal Creek Bridge on the Flinders Highway, located 124 km west of Charters Towers, will be temporarily closed for four hours to allow essential bridge deck maintenance to take place.

During this time, the bridge will be closed to all traffic to ensure work can be completed safely and efficiently.

Warrigal Creek bridge closure

9am to 1pm

Wednesday 4 December 2024

(Weather and construction conditions permitting)

Works are currently underway on the Warrigal Creek Bridge to repair the bridge deck surface and this temporary closure is required to complete repairs not accessible while the bridge is trafficked.

The bridge will reopen to traffic from 1pm on Wednesday 4 December. Traffic controllers will be onsite while works are underway. Access will be maintained for emergency service vehicles.

Motorists who travel this area are asked to consider alternative routes or travel plans to avoid the four-hour closure period. The project is anticipated to fully be completed on Thursday 5 December.
