AVI Remotely Piloted Aircraft - Excluded Category Operations - The Australian Industry & Skills Committee (AISC) has approved Aviation Training Package (Release 8.0) for referral to the Skills Ministers for endorsement.
TRANSPORT & LOGISTICS
TLI Naval Shipbuilding (NSB) Integrated Logistics Support - The Australian Industry & Skills Committee (AISC) has approved the Transport & Logistics Training Package (Release 9.0) for referral to the Skills Ministers for endorsement.

The VET 4 T&L program provides feedback to the Queensland Government about current and future skilling priorities, as identified by the Transport & Logistics industry sectors, including Aviation, Maritime, Rail, Road & Passenger Transport and Warehousing & Logistics.
As part of this, we are seeking feedback from industry on the following:
- what is your view on current VET funding settings in Queensland?
- what do you see as the most important training and skilling priorities for your sector?
- are there other opportunities for further support?
- any additional feedback?
Surveys have been created for each industry sector:
We would love to hear about what is happening in your industry, the challenges and the future priorities. Feedback to be submitted by close of business Friday 26 March 2021.

32 new courses have been added to Queensland's JobTrainer Program which offers free or low-cost training opportunities for job seekers or young people. Courses available include:
- Certificate II in Maritime Operations (Coxswain Grade 1 Near Coastal)
- Certificate III in Supply Chain Operations
- Shipboard Safety Skill Set
- Certificate II in Logistics (subsidy available for up to 4 units)
- Road Transport Driver Skill Set
There are also a variety of other courses available including business, leadership, management, IT and more.

The Queensland Training Awards is your opportunity to shine and be recognised and rewarded for your contribution to the state’s vocational education and training sector.
The awards not only highlight the value of vocational education and training, but also open doors for winners and finalists.

Women & Leadership Australia are offering scholarship funding for women in the Transport & Logistics sector.
Partial scholarships of $1,000 – $5,000 are currently available for career building leadership courses.
Courses are available for women at all management levels. Register your interest by Friday 19th of March.

The Boosting Apprenticeship Commencements program which launched last year, quickly became fully subscribed at the maximum 100,000 participants in less than five months.
On Tuesday 9 March, Prime Minister Scott Morrison announced that the program will be extended for a full 12 months and the participant cap removed.
Any business or Group Training Organisation engaging a new or recommencing apprentice or trainee between 5 October 2020 and 30 September 2021, may be eligible for a subsidy of 50% of wages paid to the apprentice or trainee for a 12 month period from the date of commencement, to a maximum of $7,000 per quarter.

tafe Queensland are offering funded training as part of their COVID response, including:
- Free or low-fee training in a range of short courses and certificates.
- Includes Certificate III in Supply Chain Operations, Certificate II in Maritime Operations (Coxswain Grade 1 Near Coastal), Certificate II in Logistics (up to 4 units), Road Transport Driver Skill Set and a range of other business related courses.
