DigiTL Futures Training

The DigiT&L Futures program aims to assist industries impacted by digital disruption by supporting a transition and adoption of new practices by existing workers.

As part of this program, workshops are being delivered for the projects listed below. Hurry to book your spot as spaces are limited!  

DigiTL Futures - Excel TrainingExcel Skills - Support for existing workers to upskill and build their knowledge and competency in Excel. Training to be delivered by tafe QLD to improve levels of computer awareness and computer-based problem solving, drive business productivity and efficiency and increase user confidence and self-esteem in digital and computer literacy.

DigiTL Futures - NHVR Permit Portal TrainingNHVR Permit Portal Training - Practical training and understanding how to use the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR) Permit Portal.  The project will partner with the NHVR and will give participants an improved understanding on how to use the NHVR Permit Portal, increase efficiency and productivity on the Portal. 

DigiTL Futures - Telematics Training Telematics - Training for operators to upskill their current workforce in new and innovative ways, manage their people, routes and fleet. It will provide road transport operators with a deeper understanding of how to use telematics in their business to drive efficiency, productivity and safety outcomes through practical training. 

TLI Rail Human Factors Project

The Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) for the TLI Rail Human Factors project, has finalised draft materials and would like your feedback. 

The TAC has developed 2 draft units of competency and 2 draft skill sets to address human factor skills and knowledge within a rail environment, looking at capabilities for both operators and managers.

TLI Shared Equipment Project

The Technical Advisory Committee for the TLI Shared Equipment Project, has finalised draft materials and would like your feedback.

The draft Units of Competency are proposed to be included in the following qualifications:

Operate pooled equipment

  • TLI21616 Certificate II in Warehousing Operations
  • TLI21815 Certificate II in Logistics
  • TLI31316 Certificate III in International Freight Forwarding (Operator)
  • TLI31616 Certificate III in Warehousing Operations
  • TLI32416 Certificate III in Logistics

Coordinate pooled equipment

  • TLI41816 Certificate IV in Warehousing Operations
  • TLI42016 Certificate IV in Logistics

TLI Logistics Operations Project

The Technical Advisory Committee for the TLI Logistics Operations Project has finalised draft materials for this project and would like your feedback.

During the review process, the TAC identified significant duplication between the Certificate III in Logistics and Certificate III in Warehousing Operations. The IRC was consulted and recommended merging both into a single qualification, the Certificate III in Supply Chain Operations.

The proposed qualification will provide learners and industry with a flexible qualification, allowing specialisation in either Logistics or Warehousing or a generalist stream.

Australian Industry Standards held Industry Skills Forums and associated Leaders’ Dinners nationally throughout late 2018, to explore current and future skills and workforce development issues in this age of digital transformation.

They have released an eBook – Future Skilling Our Workforce – A National Conversation which identifies the key high-level messages that emerged and the specific state and territory issues that were raised.

OECD Employment Outlook 2019

OECD Employment Outlook 2019 - The future of work is now. Are we ready?

The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), has released its annual report on jobs and employment, reviewing trends, policy developments and prospects.

Whilst it highlights that about 36% of Australian jobs face a high risk of automation, new jobs will emerge seeing a vital requirement for adults to be upskilled or retrained to meet the needs of future jobs.
