2023 International Women's Day Breakfast - Brisbane - TABLE of 8
QTA's Annual International Women’s Day ‘Women in Transport and Logistics’ Breakfast is the pre-eminent event within the Queensland and Australian Trucking Industry that recognises the significant contribution that women make to the road freight transport, logistics and supply chain industry.
The breakfast attracts in excess of 200 industry representatives including operators, their employees, manufacturers and suppliers.
This year's theme for International Women's Day is #EmbraceEquity.
Currently working for QUBE Bulk, Melira has made her mark in the heavy transport sector after starting out working in the permits area in 2010 after exiting the RAAF. This led to her finding her real passion for working in the specialised heavy lift and oversize overmass area.
Over the past 12 years, Melira has worked on major projects and displays strong skills in negotiation, problem solving and advocacy to achieve workable outcomes for clients. Melira has been awarded professional learning scholarships and takes every opportunity to improve her knowledge and qualifications.
Melira is an inspiring person and a strong advocate for women in the transport industry. Anyone who knows Melira can attest to her drive, ambition, and love for challenging work.
Belinda’s mission is to help future and senior leaders get ‘C-Suite Ready’. Her leadership development work is centred on liberating leaders and teams from the limitations of default decision-making and autopilot behaviours that no longer work for today and tomorrow. Exceptional leaders need a toolkit for navigating the path ahead for today and tomorrow decisively.
Across her 18-year corporate career in media and property development, she has lead sales and marketing strategy for more than 60 well-known brands. Belinda has experienced the unique pressures and challenges such roles can bring and the global financial crisis was the inspiration to set up her own business, to rethink how we lead in times of change, complexity and uncertainty.
Belinda works globally with Icon Group, Data #3, James Cook University, Accor Hotels, Canstar and Paralympics Australia, to mention just a few.
She has facilitated leadership immersion programs for The Hunger Project in Uganda, Malawi, India and Senegal, and was the 2015 Telstra Business Women’s Awards Start-Up winner for Queensland.
Author of ‘Start with You, Lead from the Inside’, Belinda is currently writing her second book due for release in 2023.
