Burdekin River Bridge - Lane closures and width restrictions (Ayr - Home Hill)

Advice from Department of Transport & Main Roads (TMR), Heavy Vehicle Unit

From Sunday 7 August to Friday 12 August 2022, weather permitting, single lane closures and width restrictions will be in place on the Burdekin River Bridge nightly between 7pm and 5am, to allow repair works to take place.

Wide load restrictions

The roadworks are unlikely to effect the night-time travel for oversize vehicle and loads due to the general night-time travel restrictions. However, any vehicles or loads 3.4 m wide or greater will not be permitted to cross the Burdekin River Bridge during these works. The existing height restriction of 4.5 m remains in place.

The Bruce Highway will reopen to oversize loads between 5am and 7pm daily; and after the work is complete at 5am on Friday 12 August 2022. Wide load operators are advised to avoid the area and make alternative plans while the Bruce Highway is closed to loads wider than 3.4 m.

For more information about the oversize and wide load restriction please contact the onsite supervisor by telephoning 0407 690 314.
