Digital Licence app’s new process for sharing information - Coming Soon
Source: Digital Licence app Stakeholder Update (29.05.2025)
We're writing to tell you about an important update coming soon to both the Digital Licence app and the Verifier for Digital Licence app.
The way customers share their personal information during digital identity verification is changing.
Customers will still be in control of who sees their personal information, and what they consent to share. However, the verifier will now request what information they are seeking from the customer.
The new process
The steps you take for digital identity verification are changing. Watch our YouTube video or read below to learn how.
Customers will no longer choose a bundle to share. Instead, they will generate a QR code from their Digital Licence app and show you (the verifier).
Step 1.
Using the Verifier for Digital Licence app, or Digital Licence app, you (the verifier) will select the information you want verified from your customer. This will change depending on your verification needs.
Step 2.
Next, toggle the button to confirm if you are retaining their information, or not.
Step 3.
Ask your customer to select ‘Show QR’ on their app and then scan the QR code provided by them.
Step 4.
A notification will appear on the customer’s device, asking for their consent to share the requested information.
It will also tell them if you are retaining their information.
Step 5.
Customers will either give their consent or decline. If they give their consent your apps will share the information.
Step 6.
You will be shown the requested information.
If you have chosen to retain the customer’s information, they may ask why you are retaining their information and to see your Privacy Policy.
Please note: Retaining information is not possible within the app and you would need to retain their information within your own business system.
Thank you for supporting our products, and please share this email with anyone in your organisation who needs to learn about the new sharing process.
To help you further, an updated Business pack will soon be available from our website.
