FNQ: Mossman – Daintree Road, Bamboo
Source: Department of Transport and Main Roads
The Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) will be undertaking safety improvements on Mossman – Daintree Road, Bamboo.
The project is part of the Queensland Governments Safer Roads Sooner (SRS) program. The SRS program aims to improve safety across the state-controlled road network, with project sites selected based on identified safety concerns.
The works will include construction of a dedicated right-turn lane on Mossman – Daintree Road into Bamboo Creek Road, which will involve road widening and updated line marking.
Works will be carried out between 6 am and 6 pm from Monday 22 September 2025. The works are expected to be completed in mid-December 2025, weather and construction conditions permitting.
For the safety of road users and maintenance crews, changed traffic conditions will be in place including temporary speed limit reductions, and single lane operation under coordination of traffic controllers and/or traffic signals while the works are carried out.
Road users should expect delays and plan their journey accordingly.
Nearby residents may experience noise associated with the works, such as the sound of trucks, light machinery and vibrations. The contractor will take all reasonable and practicable actions to minimise impacts and any disruptions to property owners, as well as other stakeholders.
If you require further information about these works, please contact the TMR Cairns office by telephone on 1800 187 937 or via email to cairns.office@tmr.qld.gov.au.
