Fraser Coast Region: Temporary Traffic Changes on Bruce Highway near Torbanlea (15–20 September 2025)
Source: Department of Transport and Main Roads
TMR are providing an early heads-up regarding temporary traffic changes along the Bruce Highway near Torbanlea. These changes are part of vital Queensland Train Manufacturing Program (QTMP) watermain works and are scheduled to take place from 15 to 20 September 2025.
During this period, a temporary 40km/hr speed limit will apply to parts of the Bruce Highway between Gympie Street, Torbanlea, and the nearby QTMP site entrance (across from the BP Station). Traffic will also be reduced to a single lane, with temporary traffic lights and traffic controllers managing vehicle flow. These measures will be in place daily from 6:00am to 6:30pm to ensure the safety of motorists and work crews installing concrete barriers.
We understand the potential inconvenience this may cause commuters. However, TMR would like to reassure you that this is a short-term disruption, and the speed limit will return to 100km/hr once the works are completed.
To ensure all road users are informed, we are:
- Updating the Queensland Traffic website.
- Setting up pre-warning VMS signage on this section of the highway.
- Publishing a targeted social media post (focused on postcodes around the area – we can share this with you if of use).
- Have delivered a community notification to local residents
- Have sent an email notification to our subscriber base (attached for your reference).
Thank you for your understanding as we work to deliver these critical infrastructure upgrades.
