Heavy vehicle access to Clermont Dept, Saleyards and Showgrounds - Advice from Isaac Regional Council

Letter from Manager Galilee and Bowen Basin Operations, Isacc Regional Council (09.06.2025)

We are writing to advise your organisation and its members of a recent update regarding heavy vehicle access to the Clermont Depot, Saleyards and Showgrounds that may affect transport operations. 

It has been identified that Wattle Hill Road and Showgrounds Road are not currently included in the applicable 23m B-Double, 25/26m B-Double, Type 1 or Type 2 Road Train notices. Access for heavy vehicles exceeding the size of a standard semi-trailer is not permitted under the current gazetted network beyond the intersection of Wattle Hill Road and Spoonbill Road. 

Until the relevant gazette notices are updated, any operator using a larger heavy vehicle (e.g., B-Doubles or Road Trains) to access Council-operated or leased facilities on Wattle Hill Road or Showgrounds Road, must apply for a permit through the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR).
