The Albanese Government's Secure Jobs Bill has this morning (Friday, 2 December 2022) passed Parliament, after the House of Representatives accepted the Senate's amendments.
The Senate late last night backed the amendments to the Fair Work Legislation Amendment (Secure Jobs, Better Pay) Bill that the Government negotiated with the Greens and ACT Independent Senator David Pocock last weekend.
Workplace Relations Minister Tony Burke told the House that the passage of the legislation would mean that small businesses without HR departments that had no chance of "ever getting a document that was simpler than the award" would be able to achieve that through the cooperative bargaining stream.
