NSW: Changed traffic conditions along the M2 Motorway at Baulkham Hills
Source: Transport for NSW
Transurban will be carrying out resurfacing work along the M2 Motorway from October 2025 through until June 2026. The work will be completed in stages at night, when traffic volumes are lower to limit disruption.
The first stage of work, between Windsor Road and Westlink M7 at Baulkham Hills is now underway and will be carried out between 9pm and 5am, Sunday to Thursday nights (work concluding 5am Friday mornings) until Thursday 20 November (weather permitting).
A reduced lane width will be in place during work hours, with no access eastbound from the Abbott Road on ramp onto the M2 for heavy vehicles greater than 4.4 metres wide. All vehicles over 4.4 metres wide will be required to detour via Old Windsor Road, Norwest Boulevard and Windsor Road to return to the M2.
Oversize and/or overmass (OSOM) vehicles operating under the National Class 1 Load Carrying Vehicles Mass and/or Dimension Exemption Notices can use the available detours if they are suitable for their combination. Operators are reminded that under Schedule 8 of the Heavy Vehicle (Mass, Dimension and Loading) National Regulation (NSW), there is a requirement for the driver and operator to scope the proposed route prior to travel to ensure it is suitable for their vehicle.
Vehicles travelling under a permit must not travel off the approved route listed in their permit unless an updated permit is obtained from the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR). Operators are reminded to contact Transurban on OSOMaccess@transurban.com a minimum of 5 days prior to their intended travel.
