NSW: Changed traffic conditions along the M7 Motorway at Prestons

There will be temporary north and southbound full closures on the M7 Motorway at Prestons from Monday 29 September to Friday 3 October, weather permitting.

Work will take place at the following locations between 9pm and 5am:

  • M7 Motorway between Hoxton Park Road and Camden Valley Way: Northbound full closure on Monday 29 September and Wednesday 1 October. Contingency will be Wednesday 8 October.
  • M7 Motorway between Cowpasture Road and Camden Valley Way: Southbound full closure on Thursday 30 September and Thursday 2 October. Contingency will be Thursday 9 October. 

Oversize Overmass (OSOM) operators and Class 2 vehicles travelling under notice along the M7 Motorway in the northbound direction between South Western Freeway and Cowpasture Road will be detoured:

  • eastbound through Camden Valley Way, Hume Highway and Hoxton Park Road
  • westbound through Campden Valley Way and Cowpasture Road.

Vehicles travelling westbound from M5 Motorway can use:

  • Beech Road, then eastbound through Hume Highway, Hoxton Park Road or Beech Road
  • Beech Road, then westbound through Camden Valley Way and Cowpasture Road.

OSOM operators and Class 2 vehicles travelling under notice along the M7 Motorway in the southbound direction between Cowpasture Road and Camden Valley Way will be detoured via one of the following routes:

  • Cowpasture Road, Camden Valley Way to either M5 Motorway or Hume Highway
  • Cowpasture Road, Hoxton Park Road and Hume Highway. 

Vehicles travelling northbound from Bernera and Joadja Road can use:

  • Hoxton Park Road eastbound to Hume Highway
  • Hoxton Park Road westbound to Cowpasture Road and Camden Valley Way.

OSOM vehicles operating under the National Class 1 Load Carrying Vehicles Mass and/or Dimension Exemption Notices can use the available detours if they are suitable for their combination. Operators are reminded that under Schedule 8 of the Heavy Vehicle (Mass, Dimension and Loading) National Regulation (NSW), there is a requirement for the driver and operator to scope the proposed route prior to travel to ensure it is suitable for their vehicle.

Vehicles travelling under a permit must not travel off the approved route listed in their permit unless an updated permit is obtained from the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR).
