NSW Traffic Alert: Changed traffic conditions on Maitland Road at Hexham

There will be changed traffic conditions for Oversize and Overmass (OSOM) vehicles on Maitland Road at Hexham, weather permitting.
Work will be carried out from 7pm Monday 3 to 5am Tuesday 4 March. Changed traffic conditions and locations, include:
- lane closure and a temporary reduced speed limit of 40km/h on both inbound and outbound lanes on Maitland Road from Old Maitland Road (West) to north of Hexham bridge
- there will be a 'blackout' to traffic lights on Maitland Road, located at the Oak intersection, and the Pacific Highway intersection exiting the Hexham Steel Bridge
- there will be a restriction to OSOM freight needing to travel on Maitland Road, under Hexham Bridge, and the Pacific Highway steel bridge and the Pacific Highway on ramp
During this time, OSOM operators with ground contact width wider than 3.4 metres and/or width greater than 4.5 metres are advised to contact the project team on 1800 515 141 at least one day ahead of movement to avoid significant delays.
OSOM operators are advised the project operates on UHF channel 45.
Vehicles travelling under permit must not travel off the approved route listed in the permit unless an updated permit is obtained from the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR).
Work area on Maitland Road at Hexham
Major work on the Hexham Straight Widening project will continue from 7am to 6pm Monday to Friday, out of hours from 7pm to 7am Sunday to Thursday and Saturday between 8am and 1pm.
