NTC Consultation Open - ADG Code Review Approval of tanks, bulk containers and vehicles
A new consultation on the comprehensive review of the Australian Code for the transport of dangerous goods by road & rail (ADG Code) is now open on the project page of the NTC website.
Approval of tanks, bulk containers and vehicles – Working group paper #3 is the third of a series of topic specific papers that will be released over the next 12 months.
This paper examines the approval of tanks, bulk containers and vehicles used for dangerous goods. It explores the parameters that are required for a vehicle to be approved under ADR and will be used to incorporate relevant requirements from ADR into the future ADG Code.
This paper must be read in conjunction with working group supplementary paper #S1 - Tank provisions in ADR – Terminology. The supplementary paper, which explores the terminology relating to tanks, bulk containers and vehicles has been published for use as a reference when reading tank and vehicle related papers.
The NTC are seeking stakeholder views on the 29 consultation questions in the Executive Summary and throughout the document. The NTC are also interested in any additional information submitters could provide to support their views. Consultation is open until 1 May 2023.
