Road Conditions Update-QLD-Cunningham Hwy (April-mid May)
TMR advises that pavement repair and resurfacing works will take place in both directions on the Cunningham Highway between Ipswich Boonah Road, Yamanto and Ripley Road, Flinders View from early April to mid-May, weather and construction conditions permitting.
Works will be undertaken between 8pm and 5am, Sunday to Friday. Temporary road closures on the Cunningham Highway will be required intermittently throughout the works program. During this time, detours will be in place.
Eastbound and westbound Cunningham Highway traffic
- During works the Cunningham Highway will be reduced to one-lane under single lane reversible flow requiring hold and release stoppages.
Ipswich Boonah Road westbound exit
- Whilst works are undertaken near the exit, Westbound traffic on the Cunningham Highway will be travelling on the eastbound lane under single lane reversible flow. Due to the presence of a median island, traffic will be unable to take the exit.
- Traffic will then be directed to return back onto the westbound lane to perform a U-turn at the U-turn facility. A lane will be closed on approach to the U-turn facility and traffic will be held in both directions to allow heavy vehicles to perform the U-turn manoeuvre.
- Traffic will then head eastbound on the Cunningham Highway and take the Ipswich Boonah Road exit ramp.
Ripley Road eastbound exit
- Ripley Road eastbound exit is to be resurfaced during the project. Traffic will be detoured whilst this is undertaken for approximately 5 nights.
- Traffic will continue eastbound on the Cunningham Highway then take the South Station Road exit ramp onto Swanbank Road.
- From here traffic will access the westbound Cunningham Highway entry ramp and continue westbound on the Cunningham Highway to the westbound exit ramp to Ripley Road.
