SEQ: Bremer River Bridge, Karalee - Investigation works
Source: Department of Transport and Main Roads
The Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) will be continuing investigations on the Bremer River westbound bridge on the Warrego Highway, Karalee from early September 2025. The works are required to inform the detailed design of rehabilitation works to the structure.
While works are underway temporary lane closures will be in place on the westbound carriageway.
Work activities
- Detailed structural inspections
- Material sampling and testing.
Timing
- Works are scheduled to commence in early September 2025 and are expected to take three weeks to complete, weather and construction conditions permitting.
- Typical construction hours will be from 7pm to 5am, Sunday to Friday.
- Night works are required for road user safety and to avoid what would otherwise be extensive traffic queuing and disruption to the road network.
- While most of the works will be undertaken during this time, some Saturday or other out-of-hours works may be required.
Expected impact
- Traffic changes including road detours, temporary speed changes and short-term delays will be in effect. Please allow extra time when planning your travel and follow the directions of roadside signage and traffic controllers.
- Nearby residents and businesses may experience short-term increases in noise during the works.
- Reversing beepers and flashing lights will be used on vehicles for safety.
Every effort will be made to minimise impacts on the local community and surrounds.
TMR appreciates your patience and cooperation while these important works are carried out.
