SEQ: Brisbane Valley Highway Safety Upgrades (Ipswich to Toogoolawah)
Source: Department of Transport and Main Roads
The Queensland Government is committed to improving road safety across the state and is pleased to announce upcoming improvements to the Brisbane Valley Highway to benefit all road users.
In partnership with the Australian Government and Somerset Regional Council, priority safety improvements will be delivered at key locations along the Brisbane Valley Highway, between Ipswich and Toogoolawah, as part of the South East Queensland (SEQ) City Deal. These improvements aim to address identified safety concerns.
The Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) will oversee the implementation of targeted safety measures, including channelised right-turn (CHR) and offset channelised left-turn (CHL) treatments. These improvements are designed to improve traffic flow, minimise the risk of accidents, and ensure a safer road network for all users.
The locations for these improvements were carefully selected in collaboration with key stakeholders, such as the Somerset Regional Council, and reflect both safety assessments and valuable community feedback gathered through the council.
Through these initiatives, the Queensland Government continues to demonstrate its commitment to delivering safer, more reliable transport infrastructure for Queenslanders.

As the project progresses, the Department of Transport and Main Roads will keep the community informed with a dedicated webpage for projects along the Brisbane Valley Highway currently being developed.
