SEQ: Bruce Highway - Exit 133 ramp closures November and December

Source: Department of Transport and Main Roads

The Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) would like to notify you of some upcoming road closures and detours affecting the Bruce Highway Exit 133 ramps.

These temporary road closures are required as part of the Anzac Avenue pavement rehabilitation project currently underway between Kallangur and North Lakes.

What’s happening?
TMR’s contractor will be applying new asphalt road surfacing to the Exit 133 ramps and nearby Anzac Avenue bridge.

When?
These works will be done at night, Sunday to Thursday, between 7pm and 6am.

At this stage, the works are scheduled* as follows:

  • Northbound off-ramp
Full closure with minor detour via second interchange off-ramp: 2 or 3 November (7pm – 6am)

  • Northbound on-ramp
    Full closure with detour: 3 December (7pm – 6am)

  • Southbound off-ramp
Partial closure with one lane open under reduced speed: 4, 5 and 6 November (7pm – 6am)
    Full closure with detour: 9 and 10 November (7pm – 6am)

  • Anzac Avenue bridge over the highway
Partial closures with one lane open under reduced speed: 16 – 30 November (7pm – 6am).

*Dates are subject to change based on weather and construction scheduling

 Detour detail
TMR’s contractor will endeavour to maintain access to businesses during operating and delivery hours as much as possible.

Due to the nature and location of these works, detours will operate as follows:

  • Northbound off-ramp towards Petrie/Kallangur
    • Full closure with minor detour via second interchange off-ramp. Motorists will be detoured via North Lakes/Redcliffe northbound off ramp and a U-turn will be provided on Anzac Avenue to head west towards Petrie/Kallangur.

  • Northbound on-ramp
    • Full closure with detours in place. Motorists are encouraged to take either:

a) From Petrie/Kallangur, take Old Gympie Road northward to the Boundary Road interchange or

b) Head further east on Anzac Avenue over the Bruce Highway and take Diamond Jubilee Way to the Boundary Road Interchange.

  • Southbound off-ramp Exit 133
    • Full closure with detours in place. Motorists are encouraged to take either:
      a) Early detour via Exit 138 Boundary Road or
      b) Continue to head southward to the Strathpine Road exit and then turn around, heading northbound to return to Exit 133 for Anzac Avenue, following signage for North Lakes/Redcliffe.
  • Other shifts require lane closures, but not full closures of ramps, together with some shorter and localised detours. Where there are two lanes available, traffic may be able to move past the work zone using the second lane, under reduced speeds with minor delays expected.

All detours will be clearly signed and managed by traffic controllers on site.
