SEQ: Toowoomba Bypass Temporary Closure Update

The Department of Transport and Main Roads provide the following update on some changes regarding the planned temporary closures of the Toowoomba Bypass.

The asphalt repairs planned for the Toowoomba Bypass between the Cecil Plains interchange and Gore interchange between 4 and 10 March 2025 have been postponed, and all of the planned asphalt repairs on the western side of the bypass have been postponed due to the current weather event.  Revised dates will be considered in the coming weeks.

The closure of the eastern section of the bypass to remove the conveyor belt gantry system is still scheduled for 21 and 22 March 2025, weather permitting. The section between Helidon and the Mort Street interchange will be closed to all traffic on both sides for 24 hours, between 5pm on Friday 21 March and 6pm on Saturday 22 March.

Detour signage will be in place during this time.

To-date, over 400,000m3 of material has been excavated from the works, to reprofile the cut slope.
