UN DG Paper - Introductory Webinar

Source: NTC

The ADG Code that is used to regulate the transport of dangerous goods in Australia is based on the UN Model Regulations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods.

Updated Model Regulations are published every two years and are developed by a UN Sub-Committee that meets twice a year. The NTC uses these updates to the Model Regulations to develop updates to the ADG Code, also published every two years.

The NTC attends these meetings, after working with the Commonwealth, States and Territories to develop Australia’s input into these discussions. Issues for discussion are submitted to the UN by stakeholders from around the world. This allows the development of solutions that can be implemented worldwide.

The NTC are seeking input from interested stakeholders on papers brought to the UN meetings to inform Australia’s position on these issues.

On Thursday 18 September, the NTC will host our first webinar on this topic. This webinar will cover the following items:

  • A brief introduction to UN Model Regulations and how they relate to Australia’s system of DG regulation
  • An overview of the topics that will be discussed at the next meeting in November & December 2025
  • How you can follow and provide input to this process

The NTC look forward to seeing you during the webinar, which will be held at 13:00 AEST (1pm Sydney time) on Thursday 18 September.
