Wide Bay Region: Maryborough | Bruce Highway (Maryborough – Gin Gin) | Lane closures

The Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) advises of lane closures on the Bruce Highway (Maryborough – Gin Gin) due to Queensland Rail overpass bridge works. 

The works will be undertaken on the Bruce Highway between Maryborough Biggenden Road roundabout and Walker Street intersection, Maryborough


South bound travel

Between 27 October 2025 to 2 November 2025 between the hours of 7:00pm and 5:00am:

  • The Bruce Highway south bound travel is restricted for all OSOM loads.
  • Signed detours will be in place for general traffic only. 
  • No OSOM loads will be permitted through the work site or the signed detours. 

North bound travel

Between 27 October 2025 to 2 November 2025, for 2 nights (to be determined during the works) between the hours of 7:00pm and 5:00am:

  • The Bruce Highway north bound exit ramp off Maryborough Biggenden Road (Alma Street), Maryborough will be closed. 
  • Signed detours will be in place for general traffic only. 
  • North bound lanes will be restricted to 3.5m in width for OSOM during the work period.
  • OSOM loads over 3.5m wide will be not permitted through the work site or the signed detours. 


Please ensure you plan your trip accordingly during the work hours.
