Traffic Alerts - Pacific Motorway (M1)

Nightly M1 traffic detours this week - at Varsity Lakes (Ex85) SB and Burleigh (Ex87)

Works to demolish the old bridge at Burleigh (Exit 87) will require the M1 to be detoured nightly this week from tonight, Tuesday 5 April to Thursday night, 7 April between 8pm and 5am. These works, and the detour, may also continue next week… further information will be provided. See detour map attached below.

Southbound traffic will exit the motorway at Varsity Lakes (Exit 85) and travel onto Reedy Creek Road and Southport-Burleigh Road, and back onto the M1 at the Burleigh (Exit 87) southbound on-ramp.
Northbound traffic will exit the motorway at Burleigh (Exit 87) and travel onto Southport-Burleigh Road and Reedy Creek Road, and back onto the M1 at the Varsity Lakes (Exit 85) northbound on-ramp.
Access to into/out of Oyster Creek Drive, Burleigh Heads, will be maintained.

Signage will be in place along the detour route to direct motorists. If you use this section of the M1 at night, please allow extra travel time. And please share this email with anyone you know who uses this section of the motorway at night.

TRAFFIC ALERT – PACIFIC MOTORWAY (M1) UNDERWOOD ON-RAMP CHANGES

From Tuesday 12 April 2022, the northbound M1 on-ramp access locations in Underwood will change.

The new Lexington Road M1 on-ramp (accessed from the intersection of Logan and Compton Roads) will open, and permanently replace the on-ramps at Sports Drive and the T3 at Logan Road.

All motorists, including motor vehicles, buses, and heavy vehicles, will access the M1 towards Brisbane, from the new on-ramp at Lexington Road from 12 April 2022.

Access to Sports Drive will remain open to local traffic, however access to the M1 will be closed (see map below).
