Heavy Vehicle Safety Around Ports

Fatigue Technology Pilot Launched

The Port of Brisbane Pty Ltd (PBPL) and the Queensland Trucking Association Ltd (QTA Ltd) have launched the SmartCap fatigue technology pilot to commence in February 2019. Sixty drivers from six road transport companies will be participating in the 12 month trial.

The project will pilot will also include health and wellbeing education and awareness sessions in 2019.

The program aims to support the existing transport and logistics workforce through minimising skill shortages, addressing the emerging skill needs of industry, and help foster an environment of innovation within Queensland businesses. Registrations are now open for FREE EXCEL training.

Training will be offered around Queensland covering:

Excel Skills - support for existing workers in understanding Microsoft Suite (MS) programs such as Excel.
NHVR Portal - understanding how to use the new online permit solution provided by the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR) - the NHVR Portal.
Telematics – maximise the use telematics in your business to drive efficiency, productivity and safety outcomes through practical training.
