Running a small transport business means juggling a lot, from compliance and staff, to safety, costs and the day-to-day pressure of keeping trucks on the road. QTA’s small fleet membership gives small transport businesses a reliable place to turn when they need help solving business problems, understanding industry obligations or making informed decisions.

Who is the small fleet membership for?
QTA small fleet membership is best suited to small transport businesses that want practical, reliable support without needing a large internal administration, compliance or advisory team. It's ideal for operators managing day-to-day business pressures while also needing to stay across industry changes, compliance requirements, safety obligations, workforce issues and rising operating costs.
This membership is particularly suited to businesses that:
- Are owners, drivers or operators of up to 14 trucks
- Want a trusted transport industry source to turn to for guidance
- Need responsive support to help solve business problems
- Want to stay informed about regulation, compliance and industry updates

Whether you're an owner-operator, a family-run business, a growing fleet or a regional operator, QTA’s small fleet membership service is built to help you feel better supported, better informed and more connected while you focus on running your business.

What a membership helps you do better
QTA membership’s help small fleet operators run their business with more confidence, clarity and support, with a broad range of member services included in the cost of one membership.
As a member, you'll be supported to:
Employment relations, HR and industrial relations support
Employment relations advice can be costly when sourced externally, which is why it's one of the most valuable parts of small fleet membership. Our Employment Relations support is designed to help you understand your obligations, respond to employee issues and make decisions that align with Fair Work requirements and transport industry conditions.
This means small fleet operators have a trusted, transport-aware source to help navigate employment, HR and industrial relations questions, without needing to immediately engage costly external consultants for every workplace issue.

Safety, risk and chain of responsibility support
Many small fleet businesses don't have a dedicated safety or compliance team, but still need to meet workplace, road transport and operational requirements. QTA's Workplace Health and Safety support helps members operate more safely, understand their obligations and manage issues before they become bigger business problems.
This support helps translate complex Chain of Responsibility and WHS requirements into practical actions that support safer, more compliant business operations.
Training, skilling and workforce planning
Workforce challenges are one of the biggest pressures facing small fleet businesses. QTA's Workforce Planning and Skills & Training support helps operators build capability, manage staffing needs and prepare for future business demands.
In simple terms, QTA helps small fleet operators take a more planned and practical approach to their people's needs, from attracting the right staff, to training them properly, to building a workplace where employees are more likely to stay.

Trusted provider referrals
Sometimes a business issue needs specialist help beyond general member guidance. A QTA membership connects small fleet operators with trusted provider referrals, so you have somewhere reliable to start rather than searching for a provider on your own.
Referrals may include support for:
