Information Session: Prepare your workplace for Queensland’s impending criminal offence
In conjunction with the WHSQ Transport Safety Network Meeting (Twba/South West), we invite you to an information session on the new Criminal Negligence Offence. Following the tragic incidents at Eagle Farm and Dreamworld last year, and a subsequent independent review, the Queensland Government has announced it will introduce a new criminal work health and safety offence—negligence causing death.
Renowned Workplace and Safety Lawyer, Matthew Smith (Partner) from QTA Platinum Partner, Sparke Helmore Lawyers will cover the following during the session:
- what the offence is expected to look like
- how organisations can protect their employees
- how individuals should prepare for the introduction of the WHS offence, and
- the foreseeable future of the regulatory landscape in Queensland.
The Meeting will commence from 8:00am for an 8:30am Start. The meeting will conclude at 11:30am.
