Road Conditions Update-FNQ-Pine Creek to Yarrabah Road-Road improvements

TMR will be improving safety on Pine Creek - Yarrabah Road.

Preconstruction works have commenced on site within the road corridor to install guardrail and signage at three sections of Pine Creek - Yarrabah Road, between the George Creek Culvert and Bessie Street.

These works will continue between 6am to 6pm until July 2024, weather and construction conditions permitting.

From 29 April, work on relocating a water main will start. The water main works are expected to continue throughout May. Residents will experience some disruption to water services as part of these works. TMR will inform residents prior to any planned disruption to the water supply.

This project is part of a $13.4 million package of works under the Queensland Government's Safer Roads Sooner program (SRS). The SRS program aims to improve safety on the state-controlled road network with locations selected based on a history of crashes and/or key safety concerns.

For the safety of road users and maintenance crews, changed traffic conditions will be in place while the works are carried out. Temporary speed limit reductions will be in place and single lane operation under coordination of traffic controllers or traffic signals. Road users should expect delays and plan their journeys accordingly.

Nearby residents may experience noise associated with the works, such as the sound of trucks, light machinery, and vibration. The contractor will take all reasonable and practical actions to minimise impacts.
