Transport for NSW (TfNSW) advises from 12am to 6pm Friday 26 June 2026 Lane closures will be in place to facilitate urgent maintenance works on the Alice River Bridge approximately 7kms South of Barcaldine on the Landsborough Highway (Blackall-Barcaldine).

Alternate State Controlled Routes are available to bypass the closure

Blackall To Barcaldine via Blackall-Jericho Road & Capricorn Highway Maximum allowable Width: 8m Height: 5.4m.

Blackall to Ilfracombe Via Isisford-Blackall Road and Isisford-Ilfracombe Road, Maximum Allowable Width: 8m Height 5.4m.

For urgent travel on the day of closure for NHVR permitted movements, please submit a new NHVR permit for the alternate route ASAP for assessment.
