CWNW: Update on Tommy Creek Bridge, Burke Developmental Rd

Road Conditions (07 August, 2026)

Source: TMR HV Unit

The Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) advises that the temporary permit restrictions recently introduced for Tommy Creek Bridge, located 20kms north of Cloncurry on the Burke Developmental Road (89A), have now been removed and the bridge has returned to its previous operating conditions that were in place prior to 22 May 2026.

Please note

Transport Operators are advised that any excess mass vehicle intending to cross Tommy Creek bridge must obtain a Special Assessment Permit before crossing the structure.

Operators should ensure they hold the appropriate permit approval prior to travel and review current permit conditions in the Conditions of Operations Database (CoOD) before undertaking movements.
