Source: DTMR - Heavy Vehicles Unit

The Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) advises they  are currently carrying out maintenance works on the Williams River bridge on the Landsborough Highway (Kynuna – Cloncurry).

As part of the works, a temporary width restriction will be in place.

When

  • Between 7:00am and 5:00pm from Wednesday 17 June to Friday 19 June 2026
  • From 7.00pm Sunday 14 June to 5.00am Monday 15 June 2026

What to expect

Heavy vehicles will be restricted to a maximum width of 3 metres (ground contact and load width).

Road users are advised to plan their journeys accordingly.

For the safety of road users and maintenance crews, changed traffic conditions will be in place including temporary speed limit reductions, and single lane operation under coordination of traffic controllers or traffic lights while the restriction is in place.

Variable Message Signs (VMSs) will be in place in key locations to ensure motorists are aware of the changed traffic conditions. Changes in dates due to poor weather will be posted on the VMS.
