DDSW: Temporary Closure of Truck Stopping Bay on Gore Hwy, Captains Mountain

The Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) advises of a temporary closure of a truck stopping bay on the Gore Hwy at Captains Mountain due to a continuation of current safety improvement works underway.
Location
Gore Highway, southwest of Millmerran – southbound truck stop opposite BP Service Station, Captains Mountain
When
From Wednesday 1st July 2026 for approximately three weeks, weather and construction conditions permitting.
The proposed works include constructing a stopping bay to a sealed standard.
Heavy vehicle drivers must make alternative arrangements while the truck stopping bay is unavailable.
TMR advises activities are subject to weather and site conditions, which may result in changes to the scheduled timeframe.
