Source: TMR

TMR advises works will be undertaken at the Bruce Highway and Cape Cleveland Road intersection at Mount Elliot, to relocate underground services including water mains and communication lines.

Works will occur

  •  Monday 2 February 2026 till late August 2026

  • Between the hours of 6am and 6pm

All construction works are subject to weather conditions, contractor availability and construction progress.

Traffic conditions

Road users can expect the following changed traffic conditions during these works:

  • Speed limit restrictions will be in place
  • Partial land closures with traffic managed through stop-and-go controls
  • Noise associated with construction including drilling, concrete sawing and machinery movements
  • Traffic controllers will be onsite during construction hours to direct traffic
  • Advanced warning signs will be in place on approaches to the work area, notifying road users of the changed conditions
All property accesses will be maintained throughout the works

Road users are asked to drive carefully through the roadwork zones, follow the directions of traffic controllers and adhere to reduced speed limits.

All work is subject to construction progress, contractor availability and weather conditions. In the event of wet weather or unforeseen circumstances, activities will be rescheduled for the next available shift.

For the safety of road users and project crews, changed traffic conditions will be in place including temporary speed limit reductions.

Additionally, variable message signs will be in place on the approaches to the work site to ensure motorists are aware in advance of the changed traffic conditions.
