FNQ: McLeod River bridge Inspection, Mulligan Highway

The Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) will be carrying out maintenance inspections on McLeod River bridge on the Mulligan Highway, Mount Carbine.

The inspections are part of TMR’s regular bridge maintenance program to ensure the continued safety and reliability of bridges on the state-controlled road network.

The inspections will require intermittent full closures of the bridge on Wednesday 5 November 2025 and Thursday 6 November 2025. While open the bridge will be subject to single lane operation for the safety of road users and maintenance crews.

The bridge is scheduled to be closed at the following times, weather and construction conditions permitting:

Road users should expect delays and plan their travel accordingly.

Variable Message Signs (VMS) will be in place on the approaches to the work site to ensure motorists are aware of the changed traffic conditions.
