MWFWB: Bowen Developmental Rd, Mount Coolon Changed Traffic Conditions, 9–13 November 2026

The Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) has advised of changed traffic conditions on the Bowen Developmental Road (88B), approximately 25–35km east of Mount Coolon, while geotechnical investigation works are undertaken.
Works will involve test pit excavations and sampling at approximately 20 locations along the road.
Works details
- Location: Bowen Developmental Road (88B), 25–35km east of Mount Coolon
- Dates: Monday 9 November to Friday 13 November 2026
- Times: 6:00am to 5:00pm daily
- Conditions: Weather and site conditions permitting
Traffic management
During the works, single-lane closures will be in place with reversible traffic flow controlled by manned traffic lights during daylight hours.
Traffic management will progressively move between investigation sites, with the available traffic lane width reduced to 3.0 metres.
Important Information for Oversize Operators
Operators transporting oversize (wide) loads must notify the site team prior to travelling through the work area to allow arrangements to be made for safe passage.
Temporary delays of up to one hour may be required to facilitate oversize vehicle movements through the work site.
