MWFWB: Bruce Hwy Churchill St, Temporary closure for Childers Festival

The Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) advises from 5:30am to 5:30pm Sunday 26 July 2026 the Bruce Highway (Churchill Street) between Isis Highway intersection and Taylor Street intersection at Childers will be temporarily closed to all vehicles for the 2026 Childers Festival.

- From 5:30am to 5:30pm Sunday 26 July 2026
Detours
Vehicles not exceeding 3m wide and 26m long can access the below detours.
Northbound via Taylor Street, Thompson Street, Broadhurst Street and Bruce Highway
Southbound via Broadhurst Street, Macrossan Street, Stewart Street and Bruce Highway.
Vehicles exceeding 3m wide and 26m long are prohibited from the detour and must find an alternate
heavy vehicle route or delay travel.
