Transport for NSW (TfNSW) advises of several state roads are affected by flooding in the Far West of the state.
The Silver City Highway is closed in both directions between Broken Hill and Warri Gate (in Queensland) due to flooding.
At this stage it is not clear when the road will reopen.
Water is over the road on the Barrier Highway between Broken Hill and Wilcannia but the road remains open at this stage. Transport for NSW is closely monitoring the situation and will advise if closures and alternative routes will be required.
At this stage it is unclear when the roads will reopen and all non-essential travel should be avoided in affected areas. Please continue to monitor Live Traffic NSW for updates.
Live Traffic NSW also has a link to the Restricted Access Vehicles map to help you plan an alternative route if required.
You can download the Live Traffic NSW app here.
When planning your journey, please note dashed red road closure lines provided by Google Maps may not be up to date.
Please note:
Unless specified otherwise, operators of Class 1,2 & 3 vehicles travelling under a Notice must consult their relevant enforceable network map to confirm a suitable approved alternate route.
Operators of Class 1, 2 & 3 vehicles travelling under a Permit must not travel off the approved route listed in the permit unless an updated permit is obtained from the NHVR.
